Almazbek Atambayev meets with new parliamentary speaker
Almazbek Atambayev met with the Speaker of the Parliament Dastanbek Dzhumabekov. Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration reported.
According to it, Almazbek Atambayev congratulated the newly elected speaker and wished him success. The head of state presented him the Koran and Manas epic, noting that the struggle of the Kyrgyz people for independence continues today.
President Almazbek Atambayev reportedly expressed hope that the activities of Parliament would continue to contribute to strengthening the stability of the country’s political system with the further development of constructivism in the work of the Parliament and improving the interaction of the majority coalition and the parliamentary opposition.
The head of state also noted the special role of Parliament in implementing the country’s long-term development strategy for the period until 2040 and important reforms in all spheres of life, which primarily concern the development of the economy and social sphere, further improving the conditions for doing business and entrepreneurship, protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens.
Yesterday Dastanbek Dzhumabekov was elected Speaker of the Parliament. His candidacy was supported by 80 deputies.
