Sergey Lebedev: Presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan were organized and calm

The presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan were well organized and calm. The Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev told journalists today.

According to him, the observers of the mission of the Commonwealth of Independent States visited 1,227 polling stations and received an extensive picture of how the voting was held.

«The elections were organized, calm. Innovations made it possible to minimize manipulation, ballot stuffing. The results reflect a real picture of the choice of citizens,» Sergey Lebedev said.

The mission of CIS observers believes that the elections were held in accordance with the Constitution and laws of Kyrgyzstan. The elections were competitive, open and transparent.

Based on the results of processing of 97 percent of the ballots, Sooronbai Jeenbekov takes lead in the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan. 54.22 percent of voters who came to the polls voted for him.
