Today, Almazbek Atambayev took part in the opening of three new houses for servicemen in Tuura-Tash area of Buzhum village in Batken region. The head of state made several statements, including commenting on the situation on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.

According to Almazbek Atambayev, during the last three days he has been watching «the lawlessness that is going on at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, where all the norms and agreements of the Eurasian Economic Union are violated.»

«Our people have had too many hardships. The writing of the Kyrgyz people is about three thousand years old, that is, our people are at least three thousand years old,» the Kyrgyz President noted.

«For our people, honor is much higher than life. We have seen a lot, in 2010 — 1.5 months of blockade, we saw the hardships of the people, we will survive today’s lawlessness. But we will defend our independence. Unfortunately, we see that today the country can lose its independence not only because of the introduction of foreign troops, but also simply because of the elementary purchase and imposition of some «underling» on Kyrgyzstan as a head of state. This will not happen!» Almazbek Atambayev said.

Almazbek Atambayev stressed that those who believe that the Kyrgyz people can be bought for money or intimidated, are strongly mistaken.

President Almazbek Atambayev stressed that independent Kyrgyzstan will continue to follow its right path to the future.

«You yourself are witnessing what changes have taken place in the republic over the past five — six years. As the president of Russia told me earlier, our army was literally barefoot, without boots. They were starving. And now the servicemen of Kyrgyzstan have a decent salary, they are provided with housing, new uniforms. Our army, albeit small, but it is combat-ready. And I thank our servicemen, parents who brought them up, as well as their wives for that,» the head of state said.
