Prosecutor asks 10 years in prison for Ata-Meken leader Omurbek Tekebayev
Hearing of arguments of parties in case of Tekebayev/Chotonov started today in the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek.
The prosecution asks 10 years in prison for the leader of Ata-Meken party Omurbek Tekebaev with confiscation of property. As for the former Minister of Emergency Situations, Duishenkul Chotonov, the state prosecution asks for him 8 years in jail with confiscation of property, forbidding both of them to hold a public office for three years. This was announced today by prosecutor Nurmat Israilov during the statements of the parties.
According to the state prosecution, the guilt of the accused was proven.
Tekebayev and Chotonov are accused of corruption.
