Moratorium on felling healthy trees proposed in Bishkek
It is necessary to review the rules for the felling, transplantation and destruction of green spaces, as well as the demolition and transfer of irrigation facilities. This is stated in the Concept for Development of Green Fund of the Capital for 2017-2025.
Today, this issue is regulated by a provision providing for the principle of compensation payment for destroyed trees. «However, in practice this does not stimulate the planting of new green plants. Their destruction continues,» the document says.
It is recommended to tighten requirements for the protection of the green fund until consideration of the issue of declaring a moratorium on felling healthy trees.
