More than half of small Kyrgyzstanis lack attention of fathers

In Kyrgyzstan, 61 percent of children between the ages of 3 and 4 lack the attention of fathers in games and early development. Analysis of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) contains such data.

«These figures illustrate the fact that it is not easy for fathers to play an active role in raising children from early childhood," said UNICEF Representative in Kyrgyzstan Yukie Mokuo. «We must eliminate all obstacles that prevent dads from creating such an environment for the child, where he/she can receive enough love, play, feel protected, develop and eat healthy. We must create conditions for all parents to have the time and knowledge they need to fully support the early development of their children.»

«Achievements in neuroscience have proved: when children spend their early years in a caring environment that stimulates their development, new neural connections can form at an exceptional rate of up to 1,000 connections per second, which can not be repeated at another age. These connections predetermine the health of children, the ability to learn and cope with stress," the expert on early development of UNICEF in the Kyrgyz Republic Chinara Dzhumagulova stressed.
