Number of ethnic Kyrgyz with returnee status decreased
The number of ethnic Kyrgyz who received the status of returnees has decreased in recent years. Almaz Asanbayev said this at a meeting of Onuguu-Progress faction.
«In 2016, at least 1,023 people have officially received returnee status, and as of June 1, 2017 — 682 people," the official said.
He explained that the process of getting returnee status is delayed due to the liquidation of the regional offices of the Migration Service. Employees of the only department dealing with issues of the ethnic Kyrgyz are on permanent trips to the regions.
