Kyrgyzstan annually increases cost of creation phytosanitary laboratories

Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov believes that Kyrgyzstan creates all the necessary conditions for exporting manufactured products to foreign markets. He stated this the day before at the opening ceremony of the Issyk-Kul Laboratory for Plant Quarantine in the Tyup district.

According to him, the majority of Kyrgyzstanis lives in rural areas and are involved in agriculture. Kyrgyzstan is an agrarian country, so ensuring plant protection and food security is a very important task.

The Prime Minister noted that with the accession of Kyrgyzstan to the EEU, the republic assumed a number of obligations, one of which is the availability of modern veterinary and phytosanitary laboratories in the country, and the government has been active in this direction since last year. He recalled that in order to strengthen phytosanitary control in 2015, at least 1.5 million soms were allocated from the republican budget, 26.5 million soms - in 2016, and 29.9 million soms - in 2017.

According to the Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation Nurbek Murashev, 5.9 million soms were allocated by the Cabinet of Ministers for repair of the Issyk-Kul Laboratory for Plant Quarantine in the Tyup district, which began in 2016.
