Yesterday, in a closed session at One Belt, One Road Forum in Beijing, Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev told what the country wanted from the project.

According to him, the modern world is undergoing a period of profound transformation. The region needs to solve complex problems. And in this sense, it is difficult to overestimate the role and significance of the idea proposed by the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

But apart from solving logistical and transport problems, the President said he supported the idea of ​​a colleague from China to build a digital Silk Road. Also, the country agrees with the idea of ​​the need to fight corruption throughout this way.

«These two ideas are very close to our country, because now in Kyrgyzstan we are preparing a long-term development strategy until 2040. A key component of this strategy will be the national program of digital transformation of «Taza Koom," which means a clean, transparent society," Almazbek Atambayev said.

As the first steps, the head of state proposed to implement two tasks jointly. The first is the expansion of the network of fiber-optic transmission lines passing from China to Europe through the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

Almazbek Atambayev is sure that if the fiber-optic transmission lines pass through Kyrgyzstan, the data transmission speed will increase tens of times from Hong Kong and Shanghai to Bern and Rome, Budapest and Brussels, to Prague and Madrid.

The second task is the construction of high-tech logistics centers and the development of joint electronic trade. In conditions of growth of such Internet giants as «Alibaba» and «Taobao," Kyrgyzstan can become the country of the most favored nation in the construction of logistics centers to accelerate the implementation of Internet orders for consumers in Eurasia.

«It will promote the development of transport infrastructure in Central Asia and provide a direct and convenient access to the Persian Gulf and the Pacific Ocean. In addition, this project fully corresponds to the goals of One Belt, One Road in the creation of new and alternative transport corridors," Almazbek Atambayev is sure.

He noted that today there are four international routes in Kyrgyzstan that meet all international standards. In addition, the construction of another alternative highway of international class, passing to China through Kyrgyzstan will be completed the next year.
