Investigation of Omurbek Tekebayev’s case may be prolonged
Investigation of the case against Omurbek Tekebaev, the deputy of Parliament, leader of Ata Meken party, can be prolonged. His lawyers said to 24.kg news agency.
According to Isken Afidzhanov, Omurbek Tekebayev should be kept in the pretrial detention center of the State National Security Committee by court order until April 25. «That is, the investigation must be completed till that time, and the materials should be sent to court. But if the investigation is prolonged, we will petition for a change in the measure of restraint," the lawyer explained.
Omurbek Tekebayev is accused of corruption and fraud. The former Minister of Emergency Situations Duishenkul Chotonov also remains in custody. He is also charged with mediation in transferring $ 1 million to Omurbek Tekebayev from Russian businessman Leonid Maevsky.
