About 3,000 road accidents occur in Kyrgyzstan for six months of 2023
About 3,000 road accidents were registered in Kyrgyzstan in January — June 2023. The National Statistical Committee reported.
Compared to January — June last year, the number of such accidents decreased by 1.3 percent.
The largest part of the traffic accidents occurred in Bishkek (45 percent), Chui (19 percent) and Osh (10 percent) regions.
At least 4,400 people were injured in traffic accidents, which is 5 percent less compared to January — June 2022; 269 people died, or 8.5 percent more.
About 820 traffic accidents involving children were registered, which is 2.2 percent more than in January — June last year. As a result, 38 children were killed and 981 children were injured.
About 153 traffic accidents were committed with the participation of drunk drivers that is 17 percent less than in January — June last year.
