Almost half of all deposits in Kyrgyzstan are in foreign currency
Level of dollarization of the deposit base of the banking sector of Kyrgyzstan reached 47.1 percent, having increased by 1.4 percent compared to the beginning of 2023. The National Bank reported.
The total deposit base of banking sector clients in the first half of the year was 387.9 billion soms. Since the beginning of the year, it has grown by 14.5 percent.
At the same time, deposits of legal entities are estimated at 141 billion soms (an increase of 4.8 percent), individuals — 145.4 billion soms (12.3 percent increase), authorities — 42.8 billion soms (increase of 84.2 percent), non-residents — 55 billion soms (increase of 10.9 percent) and other financial and credit organizations — 3.7 billion soms (increase of 81.4 percent).
