More than 65 percent of population of Kyrgyzstan live in rural areas
To date, the rural population of Kyrgyzstan is 4,583.9 million people. «Kyrgyzstan in Figures» yearbook, which was prepared by the National Statistical Committee, provides such data.
Rural residents make up 65.1 percent of the total population of the republic. At least 2,453.7 million people (34.9 percent) live in cities. Compared to 2019, the rural population increased by 368,000, and the urban population — by 280,100 people.
In total, according to the latest data, 7,037.6 million people live in Kyrgyzstan. At least 3,557.3 million people of them are women (50.5 percent), and 3,480.3 million people are men (49.5 percent).
