President of Kyrgyzstan signs law on People's Kurultai
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed the constitutional Law on People’s Kurultai. Press service of the head of state reported.
The law was adopted by the Parliament on June 29, 2023. It defines the legal status of the People’s Kurultai, the principles of its activities and the procedure for election of delegates. The constitutional law regulates issues related to the organization of the People’s Kurultai.
«The number of delegates elected for the period of the People’s Kurultai has been determined; the requirements for delegates, principles for their election, and the issues considered by the People’s Kurultai, its powers, governing bodies, as well as the procedure for exercising the right of legislative initiative of the People’s Kurultai have been set,» the statement says.
