Fire at petroleum storage depot in Shopokov: Police open criminal case
The police opened a criminal case on the fact of a fire that broke out at a petroleum storage depot in Shopokov town. The Central Internal Affairs Department of Chui region informed 24.kg news agency.
The investigation is being conducted by the police of Sokuluk district.
«The criminal case was initiated under the article «Violation of fire safety rules» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been found. An examination is being carried out,» the department said.
The fire broke out at the petroleum storage depot in Shopokov town on June 20. Several fuel tanks exploded. The fire was completely extinguished only in the evening. Eight fire brigades and Kyrgyz Temir Zholu fire train, three ambulance brigades, as well as the headquarters under the leadership of the head of Chui region worked at the scene.
Two fuel trucks, four passenger cars and six oil storage tanks burned down. Four people were injured in the fire. Causes of the fire are being established.
