Central Bank: Situation in domestic foreign exchange market is relatively stable
The situation in the domestic foreign exchange market is currently relatively stable. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The exchange rate of foreign currency against the som in the Kyrgyz Republic is formed freely and is determined on the basis of supply and demand: one can observe the volatility of the exchange rate both upward and downward.
«The National Bank is analyzing the activities of the banking and non-banking sectors, paying special attention to their compliance with the requirements of the law, including proper servicing of the population. Commercial banks continue to provide a wide range of services: provide loans, accept deposits, non-cash payments in both national and foreign currencies. Banks and exchange offices have a sufficient amount of cash in U.S. dollars and Russian rubles, exchange operations are carried out without any restrictions,» the statement says.
The payment systems of Kyrgyzstan are functioning as usual.
The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic constantly monitors the situation in the domestic foreign exchange and external financial markets and, if necessary, will take appropriate measures in accordance with monetary policy, the bank assured.
Recall, in connection with the events in Russia on June 23-24, exchange rate of the Russian ruble dropped in exchange offices of Bishkek. It cost 0.85 soms. The official exchange rates of the euro, dollar and tenge remained stable.
