Ex-official of Natural Resources Ministry detained on suspicion of rape
A citizen who tried to rape a girl was detained in Bishkek. Press service of the Internal Affairs Department of Sverdlovsky district of the capital reported.
According to the police, a citizen turned to them with a request to take action against a man, who on the night of June 15, attempted to have sexual contact with her against her will in a car at the intersection of Toktogul and Ibraimov Streets.
The Investigation Service of the Internal Affairs Department initiated a criminal case under Article 37 (attempt to commit a crime) and 154 (rape) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In the course of investigative and active search measures, the investigators identified a 30-year-old citizen.
The suspect was placed in the temporary detention center of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek.
Some media report that the detainee is a former head of the Department of Bioresources of the Ministry of Natural Resources, who resigned in April.
