More than 7,600 people with drug addiction registered in Kyrgyzstan
At least 7,672 people with drug addiction were officially registered in Kyrgyzstan as of April 1. The Republican Center for Health Promotion and Mass Communication reports.
The majority of drug addicts are men (7,230).
The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is marked globally every year on June 26.
The Republican Center for Psychiatry and Narcology, together with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, announces the national campaign «Save Lives. Share facts about drugs.» Its goal is to raise awareness of the importance of treating people who use drugs with respect and empathy.
«The campaign aims to combat stigma and discrimination against people who use drugs by promoting language and attitudes that are respectful and non-judgmental,» the organization added.
