Veterans of Batken events hold rally in Bishkek
Veterans of Batken events held a rally in front of the White House in Bishkek. About 20 people participated in the rally. They demand to give them the status of combat veterans.
According to Fakhruddin Yuvashev, deputy chairman of the Republican Council of Veterans of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies and Homefront Workers, the rally was originally planned to be held in the Maxim Gorky park, but the organizers did not get a response from the capital’s City Hall.
«We came to the White House to convey our demand to the deputies of the Parliament, and we have only one demand — give us the status of combat veterans,» he said.
The absence of an appropriate status deprives the participants of the events of a number of payments, social benefits and access to free medical care.
