39 people evacuated due to landslide hazard in Kara-Suu district
At least 39 residents of Kozho-Kelen village in Kara-Suu district of Osh region were evacuated due to landslide hazard. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed 24.kg news agency.
«As a result of activation of an old landslide, five residential buildings turned out to be at risk. The deputy head of Kara-Suu district, the head of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and a specialist of the Department for Monitoring and Forecasting of Emergency Situations are on site,» the statement says.
Employees of the Monitoring Department monitor the landslide-prone area using ARGIS program. Warning signs have been installed around the perimeter. Presence of people, grazing livestock and carrying out any work in this area is prohibited.
