Kyrgyzstan ranked first in EAEU in terms of price increase for non-food products
The highest price increase among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for non-food products (by 4.9 percent) and for services provided to the population (by 5.2 percent) was registered in Kyrgyzstan in May 2023. The National Statistical Committee provided such data.
Last month, compared to December 2022, the highest inflation rate (4.8 percent) in the consumer sector of the economy was registered in Kazakhstan, where food prices increased the most (by 5.6 percent). Kyrgyzstan took the second place with a general inflation rate of 4.3 percent.
In May 2023, compared to the previous month, an increase in consumer prices and tariffs was registered in the EAEU member states. At the same time, prices decreased by 1.8 and 0.3 percent, respectively, in Armenia and Belarus.
