More than two tons of drugs seized in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of 2023
More than two tons of drugs have been seized from illicit trafficking in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the year. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
«The State Service on Drug Control summed up the results of its activities for five months. Since the beginning of the year, 604 drug crimes have been detected, more than 2 tons of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors have been seized. During the reporting period, more than 160 events in the field of drug prevention were carried out,» the statement says.
At the meeting, the management of the service set a number of tasks to prevent the smuggling of drugs of synthetic origin, to enhance the detection and elimination of drug laboratories, as well as constituent components for the manufacture of narcotic drugs.
It is noted that several heads of regional departments and a number of employees of the service were punished for the weak organization of work.
