Bishkek City Hall and USAID sign Memorandum on Asia Resilient Cities project
First Deputy Mayor of Bishkek Mirlanbek Baigonchokov met with a USAID mission delegation in the capital’s City Hall. The parties signed a Memorandum of intent and discussed plans for the implementation of the Resilient Cities project. Press service of the Bishkek City Hall reported.
«The Asia Resilient Cities (ARC) project, funded by USAID, aims to solve the complex problems of development of a number of cities in Asia. To do this, it is planned to promote sustainable urban growth, support sustainable low-carbon urban infrastructure and pay attention to climate change issues and environmentally conscious approaches. The objectives of the project are to improve the availability and quality of sustainable infrastructure and services; promote economic growth; improve the ability to deal with climate change and the environment,» the statement says.
The meeting was attended by the Program Office Director and Deputy Mission Director of USAID in the Kyrgyz Republic Andrew Maybrook, Project Management Specialist of the USAID Economic Office in the Kyrgyz Republic Zaur Bostanov and JSI INC Official Representative in the Kyrgyz Republic Ainura Ibraimova.
