Rosatom plans to build small nuclear power plant in Kyrgyzstan
Rosatom plans to build its first small nuclear power plant outside the Russian Federation, media reported.
Director General of Rosatom State Corporation Alexey Likhachev said during the Eurasian Congress that Kyrgyzstan has been very active in the implementation of the project for the construction of a small nuclear power plant based on domestic technologies. He added that this project is of a flagship nature, becoming the first of its kind for the world market.
According to the annual report of Atomenergoprom, Rosatom intends to complete all planned work on a preliminary technical and economic assessment (preliminary feasibility study) of the small nuclear power plant for Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar as early as in 2023.
