Metal structure collapses in Karakol city, casualties reported
Two workers died during modernization of Karakol airport. The Department of Internal Affairs of Issyk-Kul region confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
Another worker is in a serious condition in the hospital.
The accident happened on June 5. According to eyewitnesses, a metal structure collapsed on the builders. One of the workers died at the scene. Two of them were taken to hospital. One of them died in the intensive care unit.
An investigation group came to the scene. An expert examination was schedule. Investigation is ongoing.
The department noted that the contractor at the facility is Inshaat LLC.
Relatives of the deceased believe that safety regulations were not observed during reconstruction of the airport.
