«We are determined to work with Tajikistan in the spirit of friendship and good neighborliness,» the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said at the first Central Asia — China summit.

According to him, since gaining state independence, Kyrgyzstan has been adhering to a peaceful policy and showing a constructive approach in resolving border issues.

«We have successfully completed the delimitation and demarcation of the state border with China and Kazakhstan. The issue of border delimitation has been completed together with Uzbekistan. We are actively working now with our Uzbek colleagues to complete the demarcation of the border. We are ready to work with Tajikistan in the same vein,» the head of state said.

He stressed that the countries of Central Asia and China, being the founding states, are actively working within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. At the initiative of Uzbekistan, the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia has successfully started working, the fifth anniversary meeting is planned to be held in Dushanbe this autumn. In July 2022, at the fourth meeting in Cholpon-Ata, the three countries signed the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation for the Development of Central Asia in the 21st century, which is designed to strengthen good neighborly and friendly relations.
