Kyrgyzstani sentenced to 10 years in prison for fighting for Russia in Ukraine
The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced a citizen of Kyrgyzstan to 10 years in prison, accused of participating in hostilities in Ukraine. The verdict of the court was published on the website of judicial acts and hearings.
It is noted that the 31-year-old native of At-Bashi district was found guilty of committing a crime under part 2 of Article 416 (mercenary activities) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic — participation in armed conflicts of other states in order to receive material rewards without the permission of the relevant state authorities.
In November 2022, he was dismissed from military service and returned first to Moscow and then to Bishkek. The defendant pleaded not guilty in court.
