Agreement on Japan's grant for roads in Batken ratified
Exchange notes between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Japan on the project «Improvement of equipment for the maintenance of roads and pavement in Batken region» and a grant agreement on the project were ratified. The corresponding law was signed by the President Sadyr Japarov.
The document was adopted by the Parliament on April 13.
The project provides for the delivery of 53 units of road maintenance, road construction machinery and equipment, including equipment for an asphalt concrete plant and a stone crusher.
The project «Improvement of equipment for the maintenance of roads and pavement in Batken region» will cover roads and pavement, as well as highways of international importance in the region.
Under the terms of the grant agreement, the Government of Japan is providing the Cabinet with a grant of 700 million Japanese yen ($5.1 million).
