Energy companies have no plans for massive power outages
«There is no introduction of any massive restrictions or power outages in our plan,» Taalaibek Baigaziev, Chairman of the Board of the National Energy Holding, said today at a press conference.
According to him, there was electricity consumption in excess of capacity in January this year, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan could not supply electricity. They had rolling blackouts.
«Our deficit in some hours reached about 300 megawatts. We had to cut off the power supply. There were also isolated cases of overloading of substations. We are taking measures to prevent this from happening in the future. If only the importers could supply us with the planned amount of electricity. We will fully prepare our equipment,» Taalaibek Baigaziev said.
