International reserves of Kyrgyzstan decrease by $459.9 million in 2023
As a result of April 2023, the gross international reserves of Kyrgyzstan reached $2,338.19 billion. Website of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan reports.
Over the past month, the gross international reserves decreased by $151.51 million. Compared to April 2022, they decreased by $261.51 million, and since the beginning of the year — by $459.9 million. The highest level of the reserves was registered in September 2021 — $3,241.14 billion.
The National Bank uses the reserves to smooth out sharp fluctuations in the foreign exchange market. The bank has conducted eight interventions since the beginning of the year and sold dollars for a total of $440,540 million.
