About 500 fish farms operate illegally in Kyrgyzstan. The Minister of Agriculture Askarbek Dzhanybekov announced at the first congress of fish farmers, processers and exporters of fish and fish products of the country.
«These farms are not registered anywhere, neither in the veterinary nor in other services. This not only violates the law, but also endanger the health of our citizens. The products of such fish farms are not checked by specialists for quality compliance. This is fraught with problems in the export of fish products abroad,» he said.
Later, the ban was lifted for two enterprises — Aqua Prom LLC and Tien Shan Fish LLC.
