Osh city to host 5th Film Forum of Female Directors of Kyrgyzstan
Osh city will host the 5th Film Forum of Female Directors on May 11-13. The organizers reported.
More than 50 applications for participation were received from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. These are short films — feature films and documentaries. The commission selected 14 films, 11 of them are from Kyrgyzstan, two participants are from Kazakhstan and one participant is from Uzbekistan.
As part of the Film Forum 2023, which is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Kyrgyz Soviet film director Lila Turusbekova, master classes will be held by guests from Kazakhstan, Korea, Turkey, as well as a discussion club.
The purpose of the Film Forum is to support women directors in Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia, the CIS, to unite them, create conditions for the exchange of ideas, introduce young filmmakers to the public, raise the status of women in the cinema of the region to the international level, and draw public attention to gender issues in the country.
