JICA’s grant equipment worth $5.3 million to arrive in Batken in May 2024
Grant equipment worth $5.3 million from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will arrive in Batken in May 2024. Deputy Taalaibek Masabirov announced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on transport, communications, architecture and construction.
Deputies considered a grant agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers and JICA on the project «Improvement of equipment for the maintenance of roads and pavement in Batken region.»
According to the document, the Japanese side will purchase 53 units of special equipment, crushing equipment, build an asphalt concrete plant for a total of $5,301,404 and will hand it over to Kyrgyzstan.
Taalaibek Masabirov asked the deputies to ratify the agreement in three readings at once, noting that the equipment will arrive in Batken region in May next year.
After considering the issue, the deputies unanimously supported the project.
