Green corridor needed for export of Kyrgyz dairy products to Uzbekistan

Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev met with representatives of dairy producers in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the organization reported.

Participants of the meeting discussed the issue of removing barriers when creating a green corridor to Uzbekistan.

Kyrgyz producers want to start exporting their products to the neighboring country. Tashkent is also interested in supplies, as the population of Uzbekistan is growing inexorably. Dairy products are needed as part of providing residents with essential goods.

«But there is a problem in the exports — this is a perishable product. It requires immediate delivery without downtime during border and customs control. At the same time, Uzbek colleagues must open a veterinary laboratory, which will confirm the safety certificate. Re-analysis of products also causes a time delay. Exactly the same problem exists with Kazakhstan, and in order to export to them, it is also necessary to reopen the green corridor,» dairy producers said.

Delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry would visit Uzbekistan in the near future, Temir Sariev said. The issue of creating a green corridor will be the main one in the negotiations. The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry also assured that the organization would contribute as much as possible to resolving the issue of the rapid passage of goods from Kyrgyzstan across the border.
