Muftiyat of Kyrgyzstan determines amount of sadaqah al-fitr for 2023
Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (SDMK) has determined the size of sadaqah al-fitr for 2023.
This year, sadaqah al-fitr is 1.6 kilograms of wheat (50 soms), the same amount of flour (74 soms) and raisins (636 soms), or 3.2 kilograms of barley (90 soms) and dates (986 soms).
As for the amount of zakat — an annual tax in favor of the needy — this donation must be at least 2.5 percent of the value of the property.
As it is known, zakat is determined by the prices of gold (85 grams of gold) and silver (612.36 grams).
According to the muftiyat, in monetary terms, the fortieth part of the zakat of 85 grams of gold is 6,142 soms, and 612.36 grams of silver — 789 soms.
