174 women to take part in elections to local councils in five regions
Nomination of candidates for participation in the elections of deputies of 14 rural councils in Naryn, Batken, Osh, Talas and Chui regions has been completed. The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan reported.
A total of 254 deputies will be elected in 14 rural councils, 97 seats of which are reserved for women.
The total number of nominated candidates is 493, at least 174 of them are women.
Within 10 calendar days from the date of acceptance of the documents — until March 20 — the territorial election commissions will check the candidates for compliance with the requirements of the law. The program «Electronic Candidate» was introduced for registration. It allows candidates to enter their information electronically.
The check is carried out through Tunduk interdepartmental electronic interaction system by the Ministry of Digital Development — passport data, membership in the local community (registration), citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Internal Affairs — the absence of a criminal record, the Ministry of Education and Science — the presence of secondary general education.
The pre-election campaign for the elections to rural councils starts on March 20 and ends at 8 a.m. on April 8. Elections of deputies of 14 rural councils will be held on April 9.
Electronic voting will be tested in a pilot mode in three rural areas of Batken region — Samarkandek, Ak-Sai and Ak-Tatyr.
