Excise rate on energy drinks reduced tenfold in Kyrgyzstan
By a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, the excise tax rate on energy drinks has been reduced tenfold. The State Tax Service reported.
The excise rate for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2023 will be 2 soms per 1 liter instead of 20 soms, from January 1, 2024 — 3 soms instead of 30.
In addition, from January 1, 2024, mandatory labeling of energy drinks will be introduced.
«Labeling of soft drinks is an effective mechanism for confirming the legality of the origin of goods and is intended to protect the population from the consumption of counterfeit products,» the State Tax Service emphasized.
