Labor Ministry develops programs to support returning labor migrants
The Ministry of Labor is developing programs to support Kyrgyzstanis returning from labor migration. The Deputy Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration Nurdoolot Bazarbaev said at the presentation of the situational analysis «Issues of reintegration of migrant women through the education system in Kyrgyzstan».
According to the press service of the department, the study was carried out by the Ministry of Labor in cooperation with the Education Association to study the possibilities of reintegration of migrants through the education system into the economic development of the country.
«As part of the implementation of the presidential decree on improving the migration situation, the ministry is implementing a consistent policy of supporting labor migrants, which includes active measures to help those who return to the republic. Since last year, we have been concluding a social contract and giving out 100,000 soms on a grant basis to start a business. At least 125 professions in demand on the labor market can be learned on the basis of 99 educational institutions throughout Kyrgyzstan. Starting this year, the department will further step up work in the field of employment and vocational training, as there is a tendency for the return of labor migrants,» the Deputy Minister noted.
He added that, coming from other countries, labor migrants bring work experience in various fields and initial capital to start their own business. «Our task is to support them, so free training in the basics of entrepreneurship and financial literacy will also be organized for 15,000 Kyrgyzstanis this year,» Nurdoolot Bazarbaev said.
