Public debt of Kyrgyzstan grows by $228,3 million for month
At year-end 2022, the public debt of Kyrgyzstan (external + internal) amounted to $5,578.11 billion (477,932.15 billion soms). The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan provided such data.
Including $4,479.46 billion (383,799.7 billion soms) is external debt, and $1,098.65 billion (94,132.45 billion soms) is internal one.
Over the month, the level of public debt grew by $228,3 million. At the same time, external debt increased by $203.69 million and the domestic debt — by $24.61 million.
At year-end 2022, the public debt reached 51.98 percent of GDP.
Exactly a half of the external debt of the republic is multilateral loans — $2,239.58 billion. The country owes other $2,185.01 billion (48.8 percent of external debt) within the framework of bilateral concessional loans. At least 39.8 percent is the debt to the Export-Import Bank of China, which at the end of 2022 amounted to $1,782.23 billion.
