Net inflow of remittances to Kyrgyzstan decreases by 21.2 percent in 2022
In December 2022, migrants transferred $190.4 million to Kyrgyzstan, which is $48.9 million less than a month earlier. The National Bank provided such data.
In total, in January — December of 2022, compatriots transferred $2,928.2 billion to the country. This is $171,96 million more than in 2021. Russia accounts for more than 97 percent of remittances — $2,780.2 billion. At least $55.6 million was transferred to the Kyrgyz Republic from other states, and $54.9 million — from the USA.
According to the results of December, there was also an outflow of funds of $118.1 million. The main part of the money was transferred to Russia ($67.2 million) and Turkey ($45.5 million). The outflow for 12 months is estimated at $1,200.7 billion. This is two times more than in 2021.
The net inflow of remittances to Kyrgyzstan at year-end 2022 reached $1,727.5 billion. This is $465.97 million less than in 2021.
At year-end 2021, the volume of money transfers to the republic was $2,756.24 billion. At least $562.77 million was transferred from the Kyrgyz Republic to other countries. Net inflow reached $2,193.47 billion.
