Inflation in Kyrgyzstan slows down due to reduction of pressure on global market
The slowdown in the growth of the consumer price index in Kyrgyzstan is due to easing of pressure from the world food markets. The macro review of the Eurasian Development Bank says.
It is also noted that the slowdown in the growth of tariffs for services had an additional impact. A more pronounced slowdown of the indicator was hampered by an acceleration of the growth of prices for non-food products, alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
«At the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, against the backdrop of increasing pressure on the domestic foreign exchange market, the exchange rate factor became one of the risks that could interrupt the inflation slowdown,» the EDB says.
