Cost of customs clearance of cars increases: Auto traders hold rally in Bishkek

According to the rally participants, customs duties on vehicles imported from countries outside the EAEU have been increased.
«Indeed, there were rumors that the tariff for car transportation was changed, but this is not so. Customs has introduced a different system. If earlier we got customs clearance, paying attention to the year of manufacture of the car, now — to the month of its manufacture. For example, earlier the cost of customs clearance was calculated in full for the year of manufacture of the car, now according to the new system, for example, the car is considered produced in 2017 until the sixth month of this year, after this month the car is considered to be manufactured in 2018. Such a system exists in world practice. But our people were not ready for this, so questions arose,» he said.
Ergesh Madaliev added that the participants met with the leadership of the Customs. An agreement was reached to establish a working group to resolve disputes.
