Customs officers confiscate over two tons of smuggled rice in Batken
Batken customs officers prevented smuggling of rice into the republic. The Customs Service reported.
«A Mercedes-Benz 518 driven by a citizen of Kyrgyzstan was stopped on Razzakov — Batken — Osh road in Batken region. The customs officers found 120 bags of rice — 24 kilograms each in the cargo compartment of the vehicle during inspection. The driver had no documents confirming customs clearance of the cargo,» the statement says.
The total weight of the detained goods was 2,880 kilograms.
The collected materials are under consideration by the Customs Investigation Sector of the Batken Customs.
