Alternative North-South road: Overestimation of work amount revealed
Financial violations were revealed as a result of the compliance audit of implementation of the projects «Construction of the alternative North-South road, phase 2, Aral — Kazarman section» and «Reconstruction of the alternative North-South road, phase 3, 159-183 kilometers». The Accounts Chamber reported.
During the construction of the section of Aral — Kazarman road, the contractor China Road and Bridge Corporation overestimated the scope of work by $52,594.9. In addition, the audit revealed the amount of savings in credit funds as a result of reducing the amount of work by $530,000. It was aimed at designing three trestle bridges and two galleries. This is a violation of the terms of the preferential loan agreement.
The results of the audit were reviewed at a meeting of the Council of the Accounts Chamber. The instructions and recommendations of the Accounts Chamber will be sent to the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The audit materials will also be sent to the relevant government agencies.
