Small hydropower station to be built on Orto-Tokoi reservoir
The Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Finance and Credit Fund under the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan and China National Heavy Machinery Corporation signed an agreement on the construction of a small hydroelectric power station on Orto-Tokoi reservoir. The Ministry of Energy reported.
According to the ministry, the document stipulates strengthening of partnership and strategic interaction, which will contribute to the development of the energy industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, and an agreement on the construction of a small hydroelectric power station on Orto-Tokoi reservoir with a capacity of 21 megawatts.
The head of the relevant department, Taalaibek Ibraev, noted that the signed documents were one of the main steps in providing the population with electricity and were aimed at eliminating the energy deficit in the country.
