Year of Russian Language starts in CIS countries
The Year of the Russian Language as a Language of Interethnic Communication has started in the CIS countries. Russian House reports.
According to it, the number of projects approved within the framework of the thematic year included a study of the position of the Russian language in the world and the CIS countries, the 3rd International Congress «Language Policy of the Commonwealth of Independent States» in Russia, the online conference «Russian Language in the Cultural Integration of the CIS Countries » in Azerbaijan, the international scientific conference «Russian language in the modern bilingual space» in Belarus, the international round table «Russian language in the CIS space: development prospects» in Kyrgyzstan, Kostomarovsky forum in Russia, the Forum of young writers of Russia, the CIS countries and abroad, and also competitions, open lessons, olympiads, literary evenings, theatrical performances.
Work will continue this year to support and promote the Russian language in the post-Soviet space, initiated by the President of Kazakhstan, the organization informed.
