Suspected of corruption officials of Talas City Hall and City Council arrested
The head of the Talas City Council, his deputy and the vice mayor of the city, who were previously detained on suspicion of corruption, were taken into custody. The city court informed 24.kg news agency.
The first vice mayor of the city Maksat Baidzhigitov, the chairman of the City Council Adylbek Zhusupbekov and his deputy Aziz Kuramaev will be under arrest until January 31.
Another local official, the head of the Municipal Property Department, was placed under house arrest.
Earlier, the press center of the State Committee for National Security reported on a corruption scheme between officials of the Talas City Hall and the City Council when leasing municipal land. The total amount of damage, according to preliminary data, reached 30 million soms.
