Krasnaya Gorka - Ak-Tash road in Chatkal district closed due to avalanches
Krasnaya Gorka — Ak-Tash road in Chatkal district of Jalal-Abad region is closed due to snow avalanches. The Ministry of Transport and Communications reported.
The day before, the first snow mass of 7,700 cubic meters descended at about 9 a.m. from the 1st to the 4th kilometers of the road. The road workers started clearing the road. But the second avalanche descended during the work at about 12.30. Its volume is unknown due to the inaccessibility of this section of the road.
«Due to the current dangerous situation, it was decided to stop clearing the road not to endanger the road workers. After monitoring in the area by the road workers, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the regional state administration, a joint decision will be made on clearing Krasnaya Gorka -Ak-Tash road,» the Ministry of Transport said.
