State Duma to discuss reorganization of migration registration
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation has developed and submitted to the State Duma a draft law on the reorganization of migration registration. Kommersant reports.
According to the media outlet, the document will expand the use by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation services of the federal state enterprise Passport and Visa Service and the specialized Moscow «migration» center for processing documents of labor migrants and registration of citizens at the place of residence.
The procedure for providing public services will also be simplified, which will relieve part of the burden from the ministry.
The reorganization will primarily affect the entry of migrants from visa-free countries for work. This list includes Kyrgyzstan. «The Russian Government intends in this way to compensate for the shortage in the labor market caused by the mobilization and reduction in the entry of workers from visa-free countries,» Kommersant notes.
