Gold mining company inflicts especially large damage on state
The main department of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan for Jalal-Abad region opened a criminal case under article 337 part 3 (abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic against employees of the regional department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and representatives of a gold mining company. Press center of the state committee reported.
«It was established that the mining company engaged in gold mining in Toguz-Toro district, in the absence of permits and an environmental passport, paid a fee for environmental damage at a reduced rate. The state suffered damage on an especially large scale,» the statement says.
